Learning to Crawl. Then to Stand.

As adults, we seem to take a lot of day to day things for granted. Having an addition to the family earlier in 2019 really helped me understand just how much we learn between birth and adulthood.

My daughter is about 9 months old now and we’re just to the phase where she’s impossible to control, unlikely to sit still, and hell bent on putting everything in her mouth (including the floor somehow?).

One of the coolest part of this is watching her learn how to stand. Having now mastered crawling, she’s working on propping herself up against anything she can find, which as i’m sure you can imagine, is incredibly nerve racking. As with most parents, i’m worried the TV is going to crush my infant while she’s trying to stand.

So what did I do aside from strapping down the TV? I bought her an obstacle course, of course! Well, really they’re more like foam wedges and blocks, BUT, we will be setting them up for her to climb up and over, down and around, and in between.

They arrive next week, and we’re excited to try them out. But in the meantime, we’ll be sure to keep the baby away from any potentially life threatening pieces of furniture.

Cheers!
